Once a Tree
And now that I have my studio, I can make loads of mess, which led me to
trying my hand at wood carving. Having great fun using new wood purchased from
a sawmill on the mainland and also found wood.
At the moment I am using plywood left over from building our house and also
discarded old fence posts which have been kindly donated by local crofters here on North Uist. Wanting to retain the character of these fence posts, I am particularly attracted to well-weathered posts adorned with old staples, wire and rust marks.
